New! Godspell at Sawbridgeworth, December 13 and 14, 2002.. |

Between the years 1985 and 1990, in the north-east corner of Hertfordshire, England, five musicals were staged by parishioners, priests and religious of St. Joseph and the English Martyrs, Bishop's Stortford; The Most Holy Redeemer, Sawbridgeworth; The Holy Cross, Much Hadham; and St. Elizabeth's Home and School, Perry Green. With much encouragement and participation on the part of the Rector and Parish Priest, Fr. Michael McGreevy, CSsR, and continued warm support from his successor, Fr. John Trenchard, they involved also many quite innocent individuals who had little or nothing to do with the above-mentioned establishments, but who just happened to be spotted by the producer, Sister Judith Russi, as they went to Mass or walked past the convent at 3, Windhill. Others were singing pupils of musical director, Sarah Kinsella. They were roped in to act, sing or help backstage. This website aims to record that special time and reflect on the very positive and lasting effect it had on our communities.
